Fall Rice Krispies Treats
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 4 cups of marshmallows - mini or regular size
- 2 heaping teaspoons of peanut butter – or more if you are obsessed with peanut butter
- ½ cup chocolate chips
- ¼ cup butterscotch chips
- First,
turn on the oven to warm or about 200°. Melt the 3 tablespoons of
butter over medium heat on the stove in a large pot, then add the 4 cups
of marshmallows to the butter and stir it in.
- Continue
to stir the marshmallows until they have melted in – be careful not to
burn them - then add the 2 heaping teaspoons of peanut butter.
- Next, fold in 6 cups of rice krispies.
- Once they are well blended, place them in a pan and use your hands to flatten it into place.
- Spread the ½ cup of chocolate chips and ¼ cup of butterscotch evenly on top of the rice krisipies.
- Turn off the oven then place the Fall Rice Krispies into the heated oven for 1-2 minutes.
- When
the chocolate and butterscotch chips look like they are beginning to
melt - they start looking glossy, remove the rice krispies from the oven
and use a butter knife to spread the chocolate and butterscotch.
- Cut and enjoy!
